I JUST NEED SOMEONE TO TELL ME HOW TALL I AM
Review: The Tip Sheet
Deep Throat
Good see former Tip Sheet stars Minibar resurfacing as Artist Of The Day on
Billboard.com. Featured as an unsigned act in issue #274 they went on to sign
with Universal in the States, and promptly disappeared from view. They're finally
releasing the brilliant "Holiday From Myself" over there, with adds at radio this
week and lots of glossy ad space hopefully signaling that they're a priority.

Long-Awaited Release of the Week
"Holiday From Myself" Minibar
Sometimes simply, concise lyrics hit the spot in a way long explanations can never do. These are such lyrics--"I think I need a holiday from myself/I need some time away from being me."
We all feel like it at some point, but it's even more appropriate this week as the news warns us of the dangers of over-working and not taking your holiday entitlement.
Try telling that to our sales guy Paul, who's currently finding every
marketing and ad exec is on a two week Easter break!
We found this track on a demo and, after we featured it in Issue #274, the band signed to Universal US offshoot Cherry Records, in
a deal personally approved by Doug Morris.
They moved out there, enjoyed the sunshine and, in a relaxed, Californian way, did some gigs and recorded their album with producer T Bone Burnett. Sometime later and this first single is at US radio.
With a laid back, almost bluesy sound and a base in LA, the band seem completely at home in America. They're even starting to look a little like Matchbox Twenty.
But we want a piece of the action and hope that success over there will lead to this being released over here. It could be the soundtrack to the summer.
